Conference Poster Presentation
Poster Presentation Guidelines
The 9th Prairie Conservation and Endangered Species Conference is once again highlighting the Poster Session as a means for participants to present their research activities while offering an excellent venue for extended informal discussion with colleagues and peers. The following information and guidelines are meant to aid presenters in preparing effective posters.
Board Presentation Area
Each poster will be allocated a panel measuring 4ft (1.2m) height x 8ft (2.4m) wide.
General Appearance
Poster presentations can include pictures, graphs, tables, captions, headlines etc. Posters will be mounted to the panel using push pins (no tape). Presenters are advised to bring their own supply of push pins as none will be provided by the conference committee.
Use of color images can greatly enhance the visual quality of a poster. Including a written abstract on a poster is optional, since poster abstracts will appear on the website and in the proceedings.
Lettering
To facilitate easy comprehension and reading of a poster, the following dimensions are suggested: (1) pictures, graphs, charts - at least 20.3cm x 25.4 cm, (2) title and author’s name- 28 mm (3) text- 8mm, (4) captions for illustrations - 7 mm, and (5) lettering on graphs/tables 5 mm.
Set-up
Set-up time will be sent out closer to the conference date. Each presenter will be assigned a numbered panel that they will be advised of closer to the conference date.
Time and Place
The Poster Session will be held in room 2E for the duration of the conference. Presenters should be available at their posters during the first hour of each poster session on both days to answer questions and talk about their work.
